TCC LAUNCHED WISCONSIN’S FIRST BROADBAND SERVICE TECHNICIAN APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
TCC is excited to announce that we are the first in the State of Wisconsin to officially offer and train a Broadband Technician Apprentice. TCC is partnering with the Department of Workforce Development, Wisconsin State Telecommunications Association, and Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College (WITC) to create this exciting new apprenticeship.
Training skilled Broadband Service Technicians is a pressing need of the Broadband industry. Broadband is no longer an optional amenity, but rather, an essential infrastructure for communities. Research has shown that access to fast, reliable broadband impacts jobs and income, business and economics, education, home values, public services, and amenities. Currently, many companies train employees through a variety of informal, non-standardized methods.
The Broadband Service Technician Apprenticeship will redefine training in our industry. The program combines formal, structured on-the-job learning from our skilled professionals with related online instruction through Wisconsin technical colleges. Our very own Cody Moen will be the first apprentice in this program.
