TCC was honored with the Smart Rural Community Showcase Award by NTCA – The Rural Broadband Association, which cited TCC’s advanced communication services and collaboration with local leaders in education, health care, agriculture and business.

“TCC is a prime example of the power of a broadband connection and a steadfast commitment to growth and prosperity,” said NTCA Chief Executive Officer Shirley Bloomfield.

The NTCA Smart Rural Community initiative recognizes and celebrates the efforts of rural telecommunications providers and their communities to deliver technologies that make rural communities vibrant places to live and do business.  The goal of the initiative is to foster the development of Smart Rural Communities throughout rural America by recognizing trailblazers and providing resources to assist broadband providers and connected industries.

“We are pleased and excited to accept this award,” said CEO, Cheryl Rue, who received this award on behalf of TCC. “We have worked hard with our local leaders to ensure that all of our members have access to advanced communications and the many benefits those services enable. We look forward to building on our success for many years to come.”

What does it mean for TCC?

Being designated as a Smart Rural Community means we are doing things right in our communities.  The work, time, effort, and direction are positively impacting our area.  While our customer growth is a good indicator that we are on the right path, having national industry leaders and our peers recognize us as a Smart Rural Community tells us we are not only on the right path locally but it shows us how we compare nationally, to other providers.  Being designated as a Smart Rural Community nationally, we know we are moving in the right direction to benefit our local schools, organizations, businesses and residents.

What does it mean for you?

Having your area designated a Smart Rural Community – due to the efforts of TCC – can give you reassurance that TCC truly is on your side and in your corner regarding technology.  Not only do we say we’re doing our best to have a strong, fast, and reliable network — we are backing it up with our actions.  We have built a solid network and are delivering fast and reliable speeds.  We are working with schools, organizations, businesses, and residents to support and improve the technology footprint in our area through free classes, sponsorship, donations, and more.  Such technology services and support also help our area stay vibrant and attractive to businesses and new residents.  Because of our Smart Rural Community designation, you can be assured that you live in an area with access to a great network and a company behind it truly interested in community needs.
