Technology Classes Are Available!
We have an ADDITIONAL type of scheduling this time — it’s called “Classes On Demand“. In addition to some scheduled classes, we are offering “Classes On Demand”. We are partnering with our local libraries to offer classes on any topic, as soon as we have people interested!
Review the descriptions of the classes and then sign up using the form below. To sign up for a “Class On Demand” just put the class topic(s) you would like in the large text box below. You will be contacted when a class is scheduled. Classes are free and open to anyone (not just TCC members). Classes last about 1 1/2 hours long. Please let us know if you have any questions.
SMARTPHONES/TABLETS/COMPUTERS – Basic overview of using a smartphone, tablet, or computer. (Apps and programs, tips and advice, the “cloud”, etc.) Bring your devices and your questions and we’ll help you one on one.
LAPTOP BASICS – We will go through some basics with laptops including Windows 10, Email, Surfing/Searching, and troubleshooting/tips including anti-virus and Windows/program updates.
EBAY/CRAIGSLIST – Do you want to learn how to buy and sell on Ebay or Craigslist? This class is for you! In addition to showing the steps for buying and selling, we’ll talk about important tips.
IPAD BASICS – Do you have an iPad but struggle using it? Or are you thinking of getting an iPad? This class explores the apps and features of an Apple iPad tablet. (note: this class only focuses on the Apple iPad tablet — no other brands/models of tablets will be covered)
INTERNET SECURITY – This class explores the three products now included for FREE with TCC Internet service – SecureIT Anti-Virus, 50 GB Cloud Backup, and Password Genie. We’ll go through what these programs are for as well as how to request/download them.
NETFLIX/WATCH TV EVERYWHERE – In this class, we’ll go through how to sign up for and use both Netflix – a very popular streaming subscription service – and “watchTVeverywhere” – the streaming service included with TCC Cable.
USING A DVR – Do you want to learn how to use your DVR for your TCC Cable? Learn how to set up single and series recordings, how to watch what you’ve recorded and manage/delete your stored recordings. We might also explore features like Replay and Apps/Games included on some DVR boxes. (this class only available in Strum, Independence and at the Galesville Library)
QUESTION AND ANSWER– We will try to have 30 to 60 minutes at the end of each class for open “Question and Answer” where you can get help with your specific devices or troubles that may or may not be related to the topic of the class. (you can bring your devices with you to class if you like)
